About Us

Meet Paula

Hello, I'm Paula Cook, founder and principal audiologist at Paula Cook Audiology.

For more than 20 years, I have been privileged to help people of all ages improve their hearing and communication. Throughout my career, I have worked in both the NHS and independent sector, supporting thousands of patients with hearing assessments, hearing aids, ear wax removal and specialist audiological care.

What has always mattered most to me is taking the time to listen. Every person has a different story, and I believe that understanding how hearing affects your daily life is just as important as carrying out the hearing test itself.

Why I Started Paula Cook Audiology

After many years working within larger organisations, I wanted to create a clinic where appointments could be completely centred around the individual.

In February 2025, I opened Paula Cook Audiology with one simple aim—to provide honest, independent, patient-focused hearing care without the pressure of sales targets or rushed appointments.

Being independent means, I can recommend what is genuinely best for you. Whether you need reassurance, advice, hearing aids, ear wax removal or simply answers to your questions, my recommendations are always based on your individual needs.

Experience You Can Trust

Audiology has been my passion throughout my career.

I have worked with adults and children across a wide range of hearing conditions and continue to keep my knowledge up to date through professional education, clinical training and involvement with national audiology organisations.

In 2019, I was honoured to receive the Audiologist of the Year Award, recognising my commitment to patient care and the profession.

I have also volunteered on international hearing missions with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, helping provide hearing care to people in Armenia, Artsakh and Nairobi who would otherwise have little or no access to audiology services.

Alongside my clinical work, I am proud to contribute to the future of audiology through my involvement with professional groups that help develop best practice and improve patient care.

A Personal Journey

My passion for audiology is also deeply personal.

Both of my children were born with a Severe hearing loss, giving me a unique understanding of the challenges that hearing loss can bring—not only for the individual, but for the whole family.

This experience has shaped the way I practise. I understand the emotions, concerns and questions that often accompany hearing difficulties, and I always strive to ensure every patient feels listened to, understood and supported.
